VISTA, Calif., Jan. 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CES 2018 – TetraVue, the leader in high definition 4D LIDAR™ technology, today announced partnerships with NVIDIA, CVedia and AGC/Wideye to highlight the benefits of TetraVue’s groundbreaking high-resolution LIDAR for next generation ADAS and self-driving applications. The four companies will demonstrate the impact of TetraVue’s 4D LIDAR 100x resolution advantage for the development of advanced autonomous vehicle systems at TetraVue’s booth #6619 in the automotive North Hall at CES 2018.
LiDAR systems are widely considered to be one of the decisive technologies needed to make autonomous driving a reality. TetraVue has taken a radically different approach that merges aspects of LIDAR systems and digital video. TetraVue’s solid-state 4D LIDAR cameras capture multi-megapixel images at up to 30 frames per second with accurate depth for each individual pixel. With over 100x more spatial and motion data about the surrounding environment than competing low resolution scanning LIDAR, TetraVue provides the richest LIDAR dataset in the industry, enabling faster self-driving decisions with higher confidence.
“It’s great to see that more and more people and organizations across all industries are recognizing the immense value of truly high definition 4D (megapixel, not kilopixel), and we look forward to working closely with our partners to integrate this value with their products and services,” said Paul Banks, Founder, President and CTO, TetraVue.
“Having worked with Tetravue in the past and consistently being blown away by the remarkable quality of their 4D LiDAR technology, we are extremely excited to be partnering with them at CES 2018,” said Arjan Wijnveen, CEO, CVEDIA.
“We strongly believe that LiDAR is the key enabler for the next generation of autonomous vehicles. AGC’s zero infrared absorption automotive glass now offers to Tetravue new possibilities for its 4D LiDAR video camera integration,” said Michel Meyers, Mobility Business Development Office Director, AGC Automotive Europe.
At CES 2018, TetraVue will have a live demonstration of their 4D LIDAR where attendees will witness the processing power of the NVIDIA Drive AI platform, which combines deep learning, sensor fusion and surround vision to accurately create a full 360-degree environment and produce a robust representation of static and dynamic objects surrounding the vehicle.
CVedia will display their SynCity driving simulator for autonomous applications as seen by the TetraVue camera. AGC/Wideye, with their revolutionary new Infrared transparent glass, will show the future of LiDAR sensor integration by eliminating the costly and impractical external installation, in favor of the safe and effective mounting behind the windshield of a vehicle. The showcased ecosystem illustrates the power of increased LIDAR resolution to enable the next generation of automotive autonomy.
